Garnock Make It Four From Five

By November 5, 2026No Comments

Garnock welcomed Stewartry to Lochshore for the final game in the first half of the league campaign. After a slow start to the season Garnock had shown some decent form in recent weeks with three wins from the last four.

Overhead conditions were pleasant and the pitch was soft following the recent rain. Garnock kicked off up the slope toward the hub. Both teams appeared keen to keep the ball in hand and  Garnock were first to trouble the scorer with a score from Matt Shiells . The home side added three further tries from Harley Kearney and two from Jared Reekie  including a length of the field solo effort. Stewartry had moments of pressure and opened their account after 30 minutes. Half-time arrived with Garnock leading 26-5

The second half followed a similar pattern to the first with Stewartry putting in a lot of effort and having spells of pressure however in the main the home defence were able to cope and the Garnock backline looked dangerous any time they had possession.

The home side added tries at regular intervals through Danny Irvine , Rory Walker, Jared Reekie and Fraser Craig. Stewartry to their credit never gave up and doubled their tally midway through the half. At full time the score was 50-10 to the home side

Due to the upcoming internationals there are no league fixtures for the next three weeks with action recommencing on 28th November
